Inclusion of Fifa-like elements, like dribble buttons, button for proper "trapping", flashy animations, elevation of top teams as the only viable options for online have worn down the quality of PES over the last 3 years. The Master League in this game is one of the few positives I found. PES 6 was my last PES before I picked this one up and the only reason I did was so I could play Master League again. Playing online is a joke if you don't intend to play with one of the top tier teams.Īny average team will have trouble with as much as controlling the ball properly, which makes attacking very hard. This has been a feature of all PES games post PES 5. Horrible passing mechanics, most forward passes are of a wrong trajectory/speed and deliberately go towards opposition defenders.
Also, forward runs by the CFs and SSs are hilariously dumb. Only way I've found for players to move around is to pass the ball to someone with the "Talisman" skill. Horrible teammate AI will not advance along with whoever's got the ball, regardless of tactic tweaking.
It's a terrible PES if you grew up with the originals and it's a good PES if you started playing over the last few years.
